(Note, gifts from MC, Luke, Solomon, Barbatos and Diavolo are not included here but arguably MC gave the most virtuous (celestial) gift, Solomon and Luke the most sinful (Devildom/sorcery) gift, Diavolo the most human world gift, and Barbatos, as ever, entirely neutral 👀)Īs I’ve written before, the original seven virtues were not the ones most commonly spoken of today, and were largely disregarded in general public knowledge in the medieval period because they didn’t line up perfectly with the established seven deadly sins. And for every sin, there is a matching virtue. The brothers are of course the Avatars of the deadly sins, seven brothers for seven sins.
That said, Simeon’s choice of request for each demon brother was very revealing. Arguably, this is deliberate, to encourage fans to piece the puzzle together without being shown the answer verbatim, but at the same time… it’s a little frustrating.
